A QUICK GUIDE TO FORWARD MOTION

Find your feet.
Then find your flow.

Everything you need to make your first few moves.

01 /YOUR FIRST THREE MOVES

A little momentum
goes a long way.

  1. 1

Make a place for the work.

Name your workspace and choose Product launch, Design sprint, or Team operations. Each one starts with three projects and sixteen believable tasks. Or open the sample workspace and explore.

  2. 2

    Add your next clear step.

Choose Create task or press C. Give the task a title, add useful context, and choose an owner. Set its project, priority, and starting stage, then save.

  3. 3

    Keep it moving.

Use the small arrow buttons on a task to move it between stages. On desktop you can also drag a card into another column. Open a task for its full details and change any property.

Planned

An idea with a place to start.

In progress

Someone is taking it forward.

In review

A fresh pair of eyes is needed.

Done

Good work, out in the world.

02 /FIND YOUR FOCUS

See what matters
to this moment.

Switch the view, keep your place.

The board makes the flow visible. The list puts more tasks in view at once. Use the Board and List controls or press B. Your preferred view and active project are saved with the workspace.

Find the right little detail.

Search by title, task ID, label, or words in the description. Add status, priority, and assignee filters to narrow things down. Use the sidebar for a project, your assigned work, or tasks waiting for review.

Searches and filters apply together. If the view feels empty, choose Clear filters to see the bigger picture. Sorting changes the order inside each stage.

See how far you’ve come.

The progress bar shows completed tasks for the selected project, or for the whole workspace in All tasks. It stays tied to the full project even when a filter narrows the visible tasks.

03 /KEEP YOUR HANDS IN THE FLOW

A few useful shortcuts.

Create a task
C
Focus task search
/
Switch between board and list
B
Save a task
⌘ or Ctrl + Enter
Close task details
Esc
Move between controls
Tab / Shift + Tab

Single-key shortcuts pause while you are typing. If a task has unsaved changes, closing it asks whether you want to keep editing or discard them.

04 /YOUR WORK, IN THIS BROWSER

A real demo.
A fictional product.

RELAY is an original software concept by shipandrun. You can create and edit tasks, assign example teammates, change statuses, search, filter, and explore different views. No account is created, no payment is taken, and no task data is sent to a server.

Look for the storage status.

Saved in this browser means changes survive a refresh or a later visit on the same browser and origin. If that storage is unavailable, RELAY uses tab storage. If both are unavailable, it keeps the work in memory while you explore and tells you on screen.

Private browsing, clearing site data, changing browsers, and closing a tab in fallback mode can remove your work. This demo does not sync across devices or people; use one editing tab at a time.

Keep a copy. Or start fresh.

Download workspace saves a readable JSON copy of your projects and tasks. It is an archive you can keep; this demo does not provide an import tool. Reset the demo restores the sample tasks for your chosen workflow while keeping your workspace name and example plan.

Starting a new workspace replaces the current one only after you confirm. Moving between RELAY’s pages keeps your workspace intact.
